We will miss you here on these pages Jessie but know that there is always space for you and your wonderful words here at MoB. We all go through these ebbs and flows of life and being kind to ourselves and knowing what we need are critical to happiness. Here's hoping you wont be gone for long!

It's funny you use the pregnancy analogy, because as I started reading your post I thought, "This sounds like me the first year of parenthood!" Completely out of my mind. Also, I have been thinking a great deal about "home" lately and love that Samuel Johnson quote (I wonder if that's where Gretchen Rubin got the title of her latest book, "Happier at Home?") I have never been a good "house-tender," and truly wish I was better at it. My friend, Shasta, has this house that is fabulous -- not in the way that it is in any way extravagant, but that it has the sense of being "lived in." It's a place you want to go and never leave...and I have no idea how to do that for myself. Have you hear Phillip Phillips' song "Home?" If not, download right away. Seriously. I listened to it on repeat for 45 minutes one day this week.

Anyway, good luck with your hiatus and getting your life back together. I can relate!
