Well, we would have a King except that we got our grown up furniture in Queen. The bed frame has cannon ball posts & came from a garage sale, and I love it. The BED came from European Sleep works in Berkeley. Can't afford that again. My own pillow!! My kids didn't sleep w/ us, but my grandkids do--well, the little ones. I have 8 of these, soon to be 9. (I'm Goofdad's mom) The dog--all 6 1/2 pounds of her, sleep with us. No tv; crappy radio alarm. Why? I listen every day to that thing!

We have a King bed. I like to get close, my wife likes her space...I've learned to adapt. We are consistent about sides, but it often changes when we rearrange the room (she says "I like it better over here", I learn to adapt...see a pattern? lol). We have a TV, and with 9 kids, it's rare indeed that there's only 2 of us in the bed ;-) Dogs are strictly forbidden. If the kids invite them up, they run when I enter the room, as they know they're in trouble! Our matress is old, but in reasonable shape (got a foam top which really makes it reasonable), but our bet itself has pretty much fallen apart. I have a new bedframe I need to put together...real soon now...

We are still using most of the bedroom set we bought when we married in 1972. About 4 years after we got married Queen-sized beds became popular and we bought a new mattress set which still worked with our original headboard. I am still using the dresser I got back then. I tried to update a few years ago and found that the newer ones didn't have enough space. BTW, this entire set with fullsized mattress set cost a whopping $300 way back then. I'm so glad you finally are getting the furniture you deserve. I think you have earned a "grown-up bedroom set.

We upgaded our bedroom furniture about 10 years ago (that put me at about your age). Had the hardest time agreeing, I wanted more feminine four poster bed. Settled on Tommy Bahamas, but had to stick with Queen because even though a very large bedroom, a special alcove with high pitched ceiling and King headboard would not fit. Yes, on pillows and sides. I keep my side even in vacation beds and I am closer to the door. One rather large 10 year old still finding his way into our bed in the middle of the night, but not enough room and as soon as one of us notices there is some movement, usually the kid. Love the new furniture you picked. Sweet dreams.

1) We have a queen sized bed and we are in the market for a king sized bed. SOON.
2) I don't like anybody touching me while I'm sleeping.
3) AHA! I can sleep on either side. "My side" of the bed right now in this house in this bedroom in this bed is the left side, but in our earlier house my side was the right. Doesn't matter which side when we're away from home. True that.
4) Yes. Kids. But only b/c I'm too tired to kick them(her) out in the middle of the night and because most of the time she sneaks in without me even knowing until morning. Also. A dog. We shall not speak of this again. My head is hung in shame.
5) TV - yes. Although I resisted this for years. Now. LOVE IT.
6) Our mattress is so crappy that it's amazing I can walk upright. When we moved into our other house, we had to SAW THE BOX SPRING in half to get it up the stairs. After which time the husband bolted it back together. When we moved? unbolted, and then rebolted. Piece. of. Shit.

Queen because the king seems too open. You might as well sleep in separate cots for all the contact you'll get in a king. BTW, we bought a dial-a-rest bed a few years ago and will never go back. That's right, I bought an as-seen-on-tv bed and it kicks ass. As far as I know we have furniture. My wife moves stuff around and my socks live in a drawer so yes, we must have furniture. I'm sure it's grown up and tasteful.

Queen size bed due to available space and cash, not because we want to be closer. We started in a double. No property claims on the pillows. I'm still searching for the perfect one (pillow, that is).

Really, I'd just prefer my own room. In fact, I think that'll be the subject of my next blog post.

We have a Queen. I can guarantee you that couples with a queen are just short on floor space. I am sometimes tempted to draw a line in black texta on the sheets, the other half is so often encroaching on "my side"
We have an assigned side, although I am currently plotting ways to swap - I don't like my side any more. I am thinking a bit of furniture rearrangement might trick him enough that he won't work out I swapped him.
If my partner was fast asleep on my pillow I would yank it out from under his head. He has a sweaty head, it's not going anywhere near my pillow.
We have a large flat screen on the wall. An early night on a weekend with a DVD in bed is sometimes just the ticket.
If we had any kids I am pretty sure they would not be allowed in the bed. Although the cat is allowed on VERY rare occasions to sleep at the foot of the bed, so maybe they could once a month lie at our feet for a few hours.
Love my mattress - it was really worth spending up on this item!

When we moved from our just-married apartment into our house, we upgraded from Queen to King. It was the best thing we've ever done. As for the TV, I'm adamantly anti. We both tend to read in bed each evening before turning out the lights, and I fear we'd lose that if we had a TV in our room. Sides of the bed are dedicated. Pillows are interchangeable. I sleep closest to the door, but my husband has a baseball bat on his side. We're intruder prepared!
