Brilliant photo! I actually thought it was you at first glance, Jennifer! Did you take the shot?
I remember being captivated by "Memoirs of a Geisha" as well.

Confession. When it's cold out I often cram my feet into my daughter's crocks to retrieve the paper.
BTW, excellent art photo of juxtaposed face.

Hey, we all make compromises! If Crocs had been invented when my kids were little, I probably would have thrown my standards to the wind and bought them some. Anything to erase one more care-taking chore from my life. However, in those days, our "easy shoes" were pull-on rubber boots, which the boys wore nonstop for what seemed like years.
However, it is amusing that your daughter is wearing Hannah Montana Crocs. You sell-out :)

I also hate crocs. I think they are so ugly. I did however buy Ella a pair. They were Hannah Montana crocs. I could not say no because they were originally $45 on sale for $9.99, and I could not resist the bargain. I hated them because they are branding on TWO levels Crocs and Hannah Montana. They turned out to be a really good purchase, however. They are the perfect shoe for an active 6 year old. They are easy for her to take on and off herself. Since they are plastic, they are the perfect all weather shoe and get wet and dry with no problem. The holes mean they are cool in the heat. Closed toes mean she can wear them to camp. I would never buy them for myself, but they really are pretty great.
