Since living alone (no mate, no children, can’t have pets) touch deprivation becomes very much an issue. My fellow employees aren’t always huggy, busy friends and busy life mean occasional hugs so what to do? I am occasionally relieved by petting dogs (I prefer cats but people don’t walk their cats) Do any of you remember “Free Hugs”? Someone would stand with a large sign on a busy street offering free hugs. Sadly, not too many takers – or givers. By the way, where is that guy????

I love the intimacy induced rigor mortis! But this all makes sense to me. I tend to run around so much that I dont make time for hugs. But when I get one — or give one — it feels so good and I ask myself why I dont do it more. Then I’m off to the races again. I will try more hugs — I think this is an excellent prescription for “better.”
