Thanks Linda! You are right, Pelican Inn is at Muir Beach, but close enough. Still very different than the east coast. I prefer the softer sand and warmer water of the east coast!

This does sound like a perfect vacation and as us about our beach/lake/ocean/mountain house, my lack of but desire to be a good hostess and friends with y’all.

Signing on to correct myself. I remembered that the Pelican Inn is at Muir Beach, a few miles south of Stinson Beach, CA.

It was so much fun, and the tradition becomes more meaningful each year, Jennifer, with extraordinary friends like you. Lindsay, thanks for your kind words… and Jennifer will attest, I specifically asked how you typically spend Memorial Day. So now I know! And Stinson is one of my favorite CA spots, especially the classic Pelican Inn. Come on over to the east side any time you like!

Kevin & Linda, hosting is not easy, but you made it look that way. Lindsay, we will take a trip with you to Stinson any time. And Elizabeth, I could jokingly tell you to look around for people with fabulous vacation houses, then make friends with them, but we weren’t that devious. It happened in the reverse order. Better to have friends with beach/lake/ocean/mountain houses than to have those second homes ourselves!

I’m pretty sure I said the same thing after reading about your Memorial Day adventure last year: how do I get a sweet gig like this? I can’t imagine a more perfect weekend.

Does indeed sound like a perfect weekend with friends and family at the shore! Just not the same experience on the west coast beaches. (We were at Stinson yesterday) Great to see photos, the boys look so big! Linda of course looks exactly the same!

Thanks for a wonderful description of a truly great weekend, Jen. Friends, family, sun, food and drink all added up to a perfect time. It was great to share it with some of the important people in our lives.
