I, too, do most of my writing from 5 am – 7 am at the kitchen table! It’s not ideal — I’d love to have long stretches of uninterrupted time like I used to — but it’s my reality for now, to steal snatches of time here and there as I can. I’m working hard to accept the reality that I’m just not going to get as much done as I used to for the time being, which is much harder to live than to say out loud!

Jessie- only you can give your power and energy away. Your blogs make me laugh out loud and as a full time working mom I can say that being a mom who works part time is harder. Having done both.
That said, John is also the mayor … How he knows someone everywhere is just shocking. Including: someone in Cancun..while we were on vacation,

Who is watching your kids while you are reading these fabulous, lighthearted blogs? And, why do you keep reading them if you don’t like them??? Wow, what a life to have three kids running around yet still have time to “waste” doing and reading things you don’t enjoy! Jessie, thanks for sharing yet another wonderful blog and speaking for most moms out there who sometimes just want to find a little time and space of their own whether they are working or home.

Brava everyone above who defends against the rant of someone who truly must have a great deal pain or difficulty in her life. It is too bad that we judge without the full picture of somebody’s circumstances. I’m judging mommyofthree by giving her the benefit of the doubt. I hope she finds the peace she needs in her life. Can’t we all just lift each other up? It makes me sad…

Ignoring the bad **noise** from mommyofthree, I completely sympathsize with your feelings of physical and mental clutter. Its hard to do anything – make dinner, have a meaningful conversation, or accomplish a project when the space is cluttered – by stuff, people, or the mind. This article made me realize that I need to take the time to clear the clutter from my brain AND my physical space to be able to emerse myself in my tasks. It feels good and helps “get her done”. Thanks for making me think about how to change my ways and make things better for me and my family.

Hi Mommy of Three from a “working mom.” Just getting to this stream now after “working” the entire day – in meetings away from my family, making ends “meat” or so you spell. The best thing we moms can do for each other is support our choices and stay clear of judgement about how we choose to live our lives. You have absolutely no idea what Jessie’s life is about or what she goes through on a daily basis — and you clearly dont know what a good person and parent she is. So Im wondering what pain in you is causing you to lash out here on a random blog? Whatever it is – Im sorry for it because your anger is palpable. And its not welcome here at Mothers of Brothers. Life is too short to spend your time taking anonymous pot shots at strangers. We won’t be posting anymore of your vitriol here. Best of luck to you.

Thank you, mommyofthree, for recognizing the hardships and horrors that are prevalent in today’s world; as I watch the evening news, I’m astounded by the cruelties which are commonplace throughout the world…even on the “main line.” But I’m hesitant to judge the dynamics of any household, including that of my neighbors, friends, and–for that matter–Jessie. I’m far more concerned about my own role as a wife and mother of four, in addition to my responsibilities as a corporate lawyer. And as for this blog, I applaud Jessie for volunteering her time to share her reflections, as it forces me to scrutinize my own actions/choices and, ideally, to become a better wife and mom.
