Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I am not so interested in getting in costume, but will still put on a witch's hat for the kids' school events. We do decorate the house but the kids have always had rather uninspired costumes (such as Liam's undercover FBI agent in 2nd grade when he went as himself with "FBI" taped to his baseball cap). Last year was memorable when Spencer was the "sad werewolf" I couldn't see his face but I could tell from his posture he was having a hard time apparently due to the difficulty reaching into the candy bowls with gloved, clawed hands. Now I write my own horror novel and I HATE halloween. I'll be with you, without costume, appreciating Lindsay for her bravery and creativity. Can I tell you how many people call me on Halloween and ask for costume ideas, good horror flicks, or the recipe for blood. I am content seeing a few of the cute princesses and pirates. I will marvel at some of the kids creativity. But ultimately I will be home under the covers with a book by HP LOVECRAFT. Now, that would scare anyone.
