Reading this reminded me of something that my husband showed me this morning about work a former colleague of his is doing. A guy who never expected a second chance got one by taking a risk with death.

Jessie, I am so sorry. I know you were really looking forward to that trip. I also know all-too-well the disappointment of a medical setback. Our dear Peyton has had kidney disease for over three years. She went into remission in January and was doing really well. We were even hoping to take her off of medications soon. This weekend.....she relapsed. We go tomorrow for more testing so we can decide what to do. So scary. So frustrating. Yes, thinking "death" helps put things into perspective (My sister had a boss who would ask, when people were freaking out about something, "Is anyone dead or in prison? No? Okay, then let's handle this." Even so, the control thing is still hard to give up. Blah. Praying for you and your family.

Anyway, here's an article on me http://www.elephantjournal.com/2011/09/you-cant-touch-this-an-interview-with-trauma-healing-rebel-sue-jones/ in case you are interested. I hope to see you in November!

Oh man - I am soooooo sorry. I hope everything inside is back in place! I think I will use that "think of death" trick but in moderation. Otherwise, I would stop working, eat until I couldn't anymore, and stop parenting. :)

Beautiful ending thought.
