Thank you for such a wonderful and witty birthday tribute. You're so right, as adults we put up huge barriers to making new friends. I am grateful that at my ripe old age, as a card-carrying member of AARP, I can honestly say "I have a new friend." That makes me feel young. It also makes me think of a Girl Scout song sung in the round. All together now: Make new friends, but keeee-eep the old, one is silver and the other gold.
