My mom and I would always do something special. Sometimes we went to U-pick berries in the Kent valley. Other times we had a picnic with my friends. But I'll never forget the year we made hand-cranked ice cream, perhaps the girl's version of a bonfire? Gives new meaning to “school’s out, school’s out, teacher let the fools out,” doesn’t it?
