I took the opportunity to act on NPR&#039;s Day of Listening and actually interviewed mum about her childhood in England during the war. Fascinating--and cleared up some misconceptions, too.
 Next, being a proper British nurse and moving to America as Vietnam was escalating, women were burning bras and riots were breaking out!</description>
