Check out unhappyhipsters.com, a similar idea, this one a spoof on pretentious architectural magazines. I always try to come up with my own captions but am nowhere near as clever as these guys.

Love this. Love the commentary on how everything is too perfect. "Too too." And you are right about this catalogue madness really being year round. Occasions are ubiquitous as are the calls for our cash. Now, I must check out that blog!

I couldn't agree more, Jennifer! Tackiness has its place! Even if just to show us some contrast, in catalogs and in real life. And the other big thing that's missing from the perfect holiday scenarios is Spontaneity. When I'm hosting and I run out of time before the guests arrive (which I invariably do), it is so nice to have a spur of the moment offer of help from a niece or friend or whomever, who has a little bit of fun putting out the china the way they want, etc....You know what I'm saying.

I have a love-hate relationship with these catalogs as I used many of them for holiday shopping this year. I would ask that the retailers send me only one per season. I do not need the same catalog with the same merchandise and a different cover every 3 days. Just sayin. And your catalog living must me sucking time from millions as the site is over capacity at the present time. Oh I long for the day Jennifer when MoB has those types of technical problems. :)
