Arlene, that is truly icky. And how pathetic to go to such lengths out of some imaginary rivalry with you. People never cease to amaze me.

A female friend of an old boyfriend of mine created a bogus FB identity/page and sent me an "anonymous" message telling me her opinions about something that had recently transpired between the old boyfriend and me. Like I cared. Of course everyone pleaded no knowledge of "who" this identity really was and copped to the message. At this 50-something age, it felt so 12th grade and creepy. I'm almost sure I know who this woman is and have known her for decades (this made it feel worse) and because of this incident, I see no reason to have anything to do with her again.

Last night I baked a potato - ah yes, that kind of tiny update on FB can get very old.
I have the feeling some people hate our blog links on FB, although some probably love them. And Emily, have you clicked on the red X off to the right of the people in question, then clicked the option "Hide this person?" Works like a charm. You don't have to take aggressive action, you're not hurting anyone's feelings, and you basically can check on them only if and when you want to.

The other day I gave some thought to de-friending a group of people. These are people that I would not recognize on the street if they stepped on my toes. However, that might compel me to de-friend people like Laurie because I might not recognize them - but I enjoy reading their posts... a quandary to be sure.

What I love about Facebook:
It gave me an opportunity to be "friends" with you and Emily without having ever met you face to face.

What I hate about Facebook:
People who use Facebook as their diary.
