Art, thanks for the laugh. I had never heard of Arkell v Pressdram – that is truly brilliant! Next time someone cuts me off in traffic, I shall roll down my window, shake my fist, and yell “I refer you to the reply given in the case of Arkell v Pressdram.”

As you know, you are using “FIESTA,” as well as variations of “FIESTA,” solely as a “tag” to drive traffic to your Etsy Web site.

That sentence tries to apply a passive admission of guilt on your part. Hilarious, of course.

Your response should include this:
“We refer you to the reply given in the case of Arkell v. Pressdram.”

“An unlikely piece of British legal history occurred in what is now referred to as “the case” of Arkell v. Pressdram (1971) (pronounced as “Arkell and Pressdram”.) The plaintiff was the subject of an article relating to illicit payments, and the magazine had ample evidence to back up the article. Arkell’s lawyers wrote a letter which concluded: “His attitude to damages will be governed by the nature of your reply”. The magazine’s response was, in full: “We acknowledge your letter of 29th April referring to Mr J. Arkell. We note that Mr Arkell’s attitude to damages will be governed by the nature of our reply and would therefore be grateful if you would inform us what his attitude to damages would be, were he to learn that the nature of our reply is as follows: fuck off.” In the years following, the magazine would refer to this exchange as a euphemism for a blunt and coarse dismissal: for example, “We refer you to the reply given in the case of Arkell v. Pressdram”; or, perhaps, “His reply was similar to that given to the plaintiff in Arkell v. Pressdram”.[16] As with “tired and emotional” this usage has spread far beyond the magazine.”

It has come to our attention that the abovementioned tea towel created and distributed by your company contains a graphic representation of dinnerware which is colorful, of a curvaceous design, and which holds up well when thrown. Inasmuch as Cutesy Tea Towel Company has obviously used this graphic representation of our client’s product to profit financially from the sale of the aforementioned towels, and insodoing has associated our client’s product with marital disharmony and spousal abuse, we demand the immediate removal of these towels from all sales outlets.

And as your kids can tell you, the line in question is currently sampled in a top-10 hit on the radio right now.
It does look like Fiesta Ware and I knew exactly what you meant when you described the illustration as such. I always thought it was cute but who wants to get involved with products like that?! Bummer.
