I finally realized that my anxiety lets up a little as soon as I pull out of the driveway. Until then the countdown is "X time until I leave my family." As soon as I actually leave I can start counting down the return. And I always remember a mom friend telling me that it's up to me to enjoy that trip (and hotel bed) for all the moms who can't go. "go have your "Petra Moment"... That day when you have such an amazing time that when we talk/text/skype you are filled with excitement and enthusiasm and awe... The boys and I will be fine. Laundry will get done (at my pace!)and lunches will be made... Yeah, I'm jealous...but I would so much rather be jealous than disappointed if you didn't take this trip of a lifetime! I hate to be the one to leave and I hate to be the one left behind! But, in the end, when I'm the one at home, I have a nice break with the kids since there is no one to compromise with!
