You loyal readers know how I feel about Christmas ornaments – each one tells a story. Seeing Missy and Tom’s collection shed new light on them and their family history – it was amazingly interesting and fascinating. Missy’s parents gave her an ornament each year, neatly labeled on the back with name and date, starting in her infancy. She and Tom have done the same for their children – each of the four kids now owns a big box with their own ornaments. Then there were the gorgeous ceramic ones hand-crafted and painted by Tom’s artist sister…ahhh, I was in bubble wrap heaven.

What a wonderful vignette of time spent with a great friend and friendship. Talk about the warmth of the fireside!

You may have helped swaddle and store the holiday ornaments, but you left us a fine little Christmas card.

Somehow you make the most ordinary things sound so rich and wonderful. I loved your description of our time together and the picture captured the warmth of our dinner by the fire! I loved every minute of our time together and yes, let’s definitely do more of this in 2011.
