That is a great letter! That will be great to read years from now when he is a grown, strong, independent man! My daughter sent us a letter from camp this year that, thankfully, didn't arrive until after she got home. It read "I wish you could come pick me up now. And I mean RIGHT now." Oh my.

Good point. It IS about losing control. This summer I am learning that overnight camp has prepared me for when they are 14, living in my house, eating dinner together every night, schlepping them everywhere and I have NO CONTROL. Teenagers!

I cannot believe that you sent your kid away to camp for 3 1/2 weeks w/o his "DS and DS case". What he supposed to do? Swim? Play ball? Sing songs? Go on hikes? Swear in the bunk? What kind of mother are you?

That letter is CLASSIC. I love where he says that "the goods" are that he gets "to curse (in the bunk)." Well THAT's a consolation! And I love how there is preprinted paper -- what happen to the days of stationary at camp?
