Having traveled around the world for eight months, I can very much relate to the feeling of not fully appreciating what you have until you leave it all behind (if only for a week). I can remember walking around my small house when we returned and thinking how BIG it felt. And, in eight months of traveling around the globe, Petra was a highlight for us, too.
