Well done. You have captured my experience nicely. Bill Bryson summed up my beach experience once with his line about sunburns and sand in your butt.

This is too funny. I hate messages for all those reasons. I am so self conscious the entire time. I have the same dialogue running in my head.
You are hilarious my friend. AND don't you worry about reading my book. In fact, I have a new beginning so....better that you waited.

The second massage I ever got was at a hotel spa where they offered a tepid jacuzzi bath before your treatment. So then in addition to the baffling underwear/naked butt protocol I had to decide how clothed I should be in the more public bathing area. Based on many uncomfortable early years at the YMCA and to prove how body confident I am (not really) I went with bikini bottoms, topless and was mortified and tense the entire time, resulting in a very fine knot for the therapist to work on. I think Sierra and Chad are wily.

You just described every massage I've ever had. Nevertheless, I still love them. Bring on Mother's Day!

This is so funny to me because I LOVE getting massages. It's a regular part of my "self-care" routine, a major splurge that I do about once a month. I have such an easy time relaxing and emptying my mind, but I know SO many people who feel like it's a stressful experience that's supposed to be relaxing, but just isn't.
