She would sit quietly at the back of the theatre, reading a mystery novel, but never got involved in the whole thing. For that, I am grateful. I always hated those stage parents, too, even from a young age. It's REALLY good confidence-building to go to auditions and have to go it on your own without making apologies or excuses.
