Totally, Elizabeth! While I joke about these situations, I think I am secretly in awe of the ability to not give a sh** about what anyone thinks. My girls are defintely teaching me this skill;)

my daughter is often the “capricious” one in the group, too. she doesn’t go with the flow, or the program. i thought perhaps no one noticed until someone said to me one day, “wow, you are soooo patient. i don’t know how you do it.” i keep reminding myself that she’s going to make an awesome young adult.

jessie, this is hysterical (as always)…and good for both you & phoebe–trying to imitate everyone else is plain old boring. and i think the story hour experience clearly indicates that you have a little genius on your hands
