The greatest thing I have learned and try to do often is slow down, smell the flowers, and "maranate". Thanks for the reminder I am not alone and the humerous account of your "ah-ha" moment.

OK, the part where you wore the bikini under your office clothes had me totally cracking up. I remember being 20 something and not getting to the laudromat before I ran out of undies. Quick trip to the department store for a new package was the only thing that saved me from being Britney/Paris/Lindsay way before their time!

Laughing, with tears in my eyes. Transitions are SO not my thing, either. I tend to try to rush through them, barking at everyone around me, without really realizing why I'm in such a vile mood until the whole damn thing has passed.
Here's to a little more tenderness to myself.

I too have always had trouble with transitions. Specifically, I have trouble with "doing nothing." But I have started to learn that doing nothing is actually doing soemthing -- whether its recharging or marinating or resting -- its important. It takes patience for people like us to do nothing -- so consider it an exercise. Good advice in the 3 T's! I am looking forward to becoming a zestier version of me! (Love that!)
