Yes, turns out Irene Ryan was just acting when she was Granny. Although I happen to love the time Mr. Drysdale entered her in the skeet shooting competition at his country club and she won – using a rifle.

Cognitive dissonance! Granny on Broadway?! This is a far cry from when she entered the wrestling ring and hoisted the Boston Beast Lady over her head in defense of the sweet little farm girl whose parent’s land was being foreclosed on by the evil banker (cut to scene of Mr. Drysdale kicking the TV).

My “power song” is “Vibeology” by Paula Abdul. Sad and cheesy, I know. “A Little Respect” by Erasure is also on my iPod for working out.

I’ll look forward to hearing what else people add; I’m trying to kick up my iPod workout mix a little. I found the mix I made for the kindergarten party to be surprisingly effective. New Shoes, The Alphabet Lost and Found, Laurie Berkner’s Boots…but I definitely need to add some 80s back in there!

I can’t believe you have been working out all this time without music my friend! That is quite a task. Musci is such a powerful thing and when you are bustin your butt, letting the music take you places other than the treadmill is so helpful. I tend to lean towards 80′s dance music with my “power song” being A Little Respect by Erasure. Makes me happy and my pace picks up considerably.
