Em, finally catching up here....great post! I agree with Kim - sounds like a fascinating yet exhausting adventure. Can't wait to hear how your perspective/experience compares upon your return with the fam. Glad you are back safe and sound!

Great post, Em. Again, it needs to be published somewhere. I can very much relate to that feeling of having an "aha" moment on your travels, but not the one you expected to have, and feeling connected to home in a different way upon returning. Sounds like it was an illuminating eight days away.

Beautiful post, Em. You have such a way with words. The experience sounds both fascinating and grueling on many levels. And tell Dave to keep it clean. There might be kids reading!

This is a lovely post Emily.

Perhaps a far away journey can help us realize that whatever we are in search of is often easy to find right at home.

I hope your family travels a wonderful path together on your return trip!

Welcome Home.

I love reading about your trip and I'm so eager to hear how this trip will be so very different (I'm guessing) compared to the one upcoming with Dave and the boys. My favorite line here is this, "But most of all, I have a new appreciation for what “home” really means – and it has less to do with the territory you occupy and more to do with who you occupy it with." Gorgeous! xoxo
