Yes, the chaos does eventually quiet down and/or end. It all happens so gradually, it’s a bit hard to believe, but it’s true. This is why old ladies will grip your arm in the grocery store, when they see you there with little ones, and urge you to “enjoy every minute, they grow up so fast.” The falsehood of this exhortation is that nobody can enjoy every minute, especially when they are sleep deprived, unshowered, and stressed to the max. The truth is that, when it’s all over and you’re looking back, you WISH you had enjoyed every minute. But that is truly impossible.

As the mother of still young boys, I was so happy to read this. I might rationally know the chaos will quiet down someday, but its really hard to imagine.

I will try Boggle, that is our other favorite family tabletop game. And Linda, I can’t think of any amazing Scrabble moves I’ve made. I am really a plodding, utility player. But thanks for asking. Kudos to Eric on “stymied” – WOW! Jim, you’re right about the jean jacket. It is beyond threadbare but Ian loves it and has even patched it up a bit. A great “family heirloom.”

Great to see the Reynolds guys! I like your tag line, too. We’ve used Mellon Certified Restoration more than once and they always did fine work. Played a lot of Scrabble this weekend, too. Eric stymied us on the first move of one of the games with — yes– “stymied”. What are some of your recent great Scrabble moves, Jennifer?

Sounds like a wonderful weekend and I love that tag line – it really does sum up what they do! And as far as you kids getting so tall – I agree — not just physically but in all other ways. I think you and Chris have a bona fide grown up on your hands! Congrats.

I have tremendous admiration for anyone who has managed to work full-time in a profession that demands concentration with little ones underfoot. It was all I could do to raise one quiet little girl with NO job during the early years..!
