Ahhh,,, what can I say Em ..but I believe this is what is called “LIFE on LIFE’s TERMS”. Within the last 2 weeks, and now only 4 days to go b4 Jesse’s Bar Mitzvah, the week prior to yours, we have had the following;
-Head Lice- ( OK, I can hardly type that without scratching fiercely at myself) Jesse, with his long locks is my Samson , and nightly I played Delilah, standing over his bed , a knife at the ready to shear the power right off of his head. But! I know that G-D invented RID and I resigned myself to being the Nit picker I have obsessively become.
-Runny Noses- Both kids, fun stuff and lots of sanitizer poured liberally over their bodies as they pass me. Plus 500 mg of C daily and a healthy dose of chicken soup ( served by me wearing a rubber suit and gas mask)
But the worst of all , my mother , whom I lean on quite heavily as a single mother myself, suffered a minor stroke on Saturday, one week prior to our event. Now ,the universe works in mysterious ways , as we all know, but I was unclear as to the reason or lesson in that. Thankfully she is well and now home from the hospital. For me, I was forced to stop and regroup, and perhaps that is the lesson in itself. All we have is love and family. So if there are small bugs, boogers and coughs..I can handle them. But without my mother, or my family around me, the Mitzvah is not so sweet.
P.S. As I type this, and repeat your prayer to myself again and again , we have no bugs and less boogies!
P.P.S. I am on my way to my mothers with a pile of work she can lay in bed and do for me!!!

Love it, Em. Is this why Noah has been so hard to get a hold of for a play date? You’ve got him locked up, huh? Ian’s been frantic for Noah lately (though it’s possible Noah was at our house last evening and I missed it while passed out in bed).
