I agree with so many of the above. My additions are too numerous to add (you’ve seen my list!) but I will mention the phrase “Best. Day. Ever” and all its iterations, such as “Worst. Movie. Ever” and the like.

I hate the use of impact (v) for have an influnece on something. Impact means bang into or stop up not have an effect on. It is just trying to sound important. My cat got impacted once and had to go to the vet. Schools use this all the time.

These are all excellent contributions to Daniel Webster’s Dictionary of Banned Words and Phrases. This morning I saw John Boehner being interviewed about his beliefs. He actually said “It is what it is” and then later, “I am what I am.” Meaningless blather!

Not a word, or a phrase: LOL! So overused, and it actually took me a while to figure out what it even meant. Now that I know, it’s even more annoying!

It is not a single word, but a phrase that sets my hair on fire. Can people please just stop with the incessant use of ‘but it’s all good’ ~ so annoying!!

my ears (and soul) die a little every time I hear someone use the non-word “conversate” when she means to say “converse”. Egads!
