Prepare for the unexpected. Is grabbing a raincoat on a hook and stepping into some warm-up pants too much to ask by way of preparation? No one is demanding cover mother looks at the school drop. (You need people to prep that big hair.)
And parents wonder why their dittos commute through the winter in threadbare clothes, treat their hoods as optional in the event of a rain storm, and serve as acolytes bare-legged in basketball shorts.

I can’t even count the number of times I have dashed out to drop the kids at school wearing only my jammies and fuzzy socks, with unbrushed teeth and hair in a pony tail or baseball cap, praying that there won’t be mishap that would require me to step out of the car or interact with others. Fortunately, we don’t get snow here in Los Angeles!
