During our last vacation, our brothers decided that the chef's tasting menu looked interesting (at $110 per person), I just thanked my lucky stars they weren't old enough to order the wine pairings with it. . . .

And then somewhere in adulthood it all comes full circle again...just to make me cringe, last night my husband ordered mac n' cheese. To the tune of $16.95!! Needless to say, he enjoyed every bite.

I have just started on the journey of introducing solid foods, so this is an interesting look at the future for me :) I remember when my parents and I went to Sea World when I was 18. I have always looked young for my age, but when the cashier asked, "Two adults and one child?" I started to protest until my dad interjected with a hearty "yes!" realizing how much money he'd save on admission!

I suppose I'm lucky. My ultra picky offspring are still eating off the kids menu, opting for pasta with butter or chicken fingers. And since Ian still looks like he's 10, he can get away with this. Of course I'm not exactly the role model for adventurous eating!

So funny and true! Yes, we have traveled a long way from fishsticks and mac-n-cheese. Hugh ordered quail at a recent restaurant outing - I guess technically that is beige food, which is all he would touch for years - just way more expensive.
