Spent the last couple days glued to The Mockingjay (Suzanne Collins). I actually knew the release date having read The Hunger Games and Catching Fire. These are young adult books but I enjoyed infinitely more than the Stieg Larson trilogy. Found the non-fiction The Color of Water, very nice. Could not get into Life of Pi, one of high school's recommended reads.

I have read The Keep and very much enjoyed it. Jennifer Egan, it turns out is a mother of brothers in Brooklyn who is a good friend of my writing mentor Julie Mars. I read The Keep out in New Mexico a few years back after plucking it from Julie's bookshelf and hearing all about what a super woman Jennifer is... I believe she goes by Jenny to her friends. Met her briefly Julie's reading. I think she is really talented.
