My kids are petrified by this one, alas.
The disembodied hand always got me.

Enough. Here’s the funny thing: my kids will pick almost anything over Sesame Street on PBS now. But if they hear me play an old school Sesame thing on the computer? They drop whatever they are doing and come watch. Strange.

Hey Y’all!
My parents watched the first episode with me and immediately bought their first color tv. I watch the first episode with my kids and am instantly nostalgic for the actual grit shown in the cityscape. Thanks for this!

How come Big Bird refers to Mr. Hooper has Mr. LOOPER only at the end of the clip? I’m so confused — is he forgetting Mr. Hooper already?

I would so dearly love to write something thoughtful and insightful and possibly even moving about Sesame Street, which I love, but I can’t because I’m distracted by two things:

1) I’m glad I’m not the only parent who is raising a potty mouth (and it’s TOTALLY my fault)

2) “Debuted” is one of the most irritating words to read in the English language.
