Thanks for the memory. It’s funny, I just 2 hours ago finished shining pine cone candle sticks and thinking of the candles (among other fun stuff) that Carol Ann gave last year. I do miss her so much, the 16th was just a sad day. I am sure she did have a hand in how you received your “new” wreath.
Thanks for the book as well! I enjoyed it! Thank you also for your friendship with her, I know it was a big part of her life.

How lucky Carol Ann was to have such a wonderful circle of friends that still see her in everyday life. Reading things like this makes me smile. Your post about Carol’s life and death was my favorite you wrote this year, and this is a wonderful follow-up. Your pinecone wreath is no doubt a sign from the universe of Carol’s palpable presence in your life. I feel much the same wag when I see a bluebird in nature – a special symbol that my mom and I shared. They are rare in these parts, but there is currently one making his home somewhere in our neighborhood, and it cheers me every time I see him.

I agree, I do think Carol had a hand in helping me find the discarded pinecone wreath. Even though I was wearing a sweatshirt, PJ bottoms and fuzzy slippers at the time (my usual school run glam outfit), I nevertheless got out of the car and wrestled the wreath into the back seat. And I’m so glad I did.

Love this one! There isn’t a doubt in my mind either. You were meant to find it and it was meant to become part of the Reynolds’ treasures. Thanks Jennifer (and thanks Carol).

P.S. It was at Carol’s house for book club one Christmas that I tasted her wonderful baked brie with cranberries for the first time. I’ve never made it before, but I think this Christmas Eve is the perfect time.

It didn’t fall off any truck. No accident that it was there, in that spot,standing up in announcement~the moment you were going by and noticed it.

Carol continues to be with you in spirit and kind, if not earthly presence. I beleve things happen in mysterious ways we may never understand as mere earthlings and that love is still the greatest and most eternal motivator. And it’s transcendant.
