It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.
Hit it.

Beautiful! Okay, don't laugh -- I just rewatched the second half of Mrs. Doubtfire the other night. I love the little daughter and several of the scenes are both hilarious and touching. The restaurant scene when Sally Fields finally realizes that her ex, Robin Williams, has been Mrs. Doubtfire all along -- her reaction (and everyone else's at the table) is pitch perfect. I could replay that scene two or three times a year.

Obviously, that DPS scene makes me weep every time. Also, how hot was Nuwanda? Another one that never fails happens during Love Actually - the scene in the restaurant when Jaime proposes to Aurelia and she responds in English, which she learned, "just in cases". kills me.

Love that part of Dead Poets Society, too. And while I'm not one who can re-watch most movies, I have to confess to watching You've Got Mail every time it's on. Must be the bookstore element!

Your last paragraph was so insightful and true. Kudos.

You are a very understanding mom. Great empathetic post ~ there are very few things that I've seen over and over (too many that I've never seen even once) but I have to say I love the end of To Kill a Mockingbird, when Robert Duvall makes his appearance as Boo. From Jem's bedroom to when Scout walks Boo home, holding his hand...it just kills me every time.
