Evie should definitley see this one...soooooooooo true!!! I love how you put it all together. Maybe there is a new "job" out there for those who really like to "straighten" and can actually do it. My question is...where do we all put all the stuff that we "straighten". I can't tell you the number of items I have "lost" do to my own inability to "straighten" well. My definition is to just throw "it" all in a drawer or closet!!! Love your topics!!! xo Jul

Ah....this sounds so frightenly familiar. Unlike Dave however, my husband will clean toilets, he just won't shop for food. I think that's his way so justifying the hours spent with reading material in the bathroom each week!

Ha! Cleaning. Wonderful post which leads me to another topic: Killer laundry. I can't seem to find my way out of the mounds and mounds of laundry. Just when I do one load, another three pile up. When I finally catch up, I have baskets of clothes sitting around and no time to put things away. My son thinks its fun to throw clothes in the air and sit in the laundry basket (or "float in the boat").
How do I cope? Stuff everything in the spare room? Run around naked? How do you cope?

Emily -

As always, I am entertained by your smart writing. I particularly like your "straightening success" formula. Your insights into day to day family life are a lot of fun. Sorry I have waited until now to send my congratulations on your great new venture. I have been reading all along and I will continue to do so. Good luck and lots of success.

As someone who knows both of you, especially Dave- hilarious! This reminds me of when I was 18 and the day my mother came back from Holland after a month away. I cleaned the house from top to bottom and the first thing she said when she walked through the front door was "Woo I gotta clean." Your site is awesome!

Emily, as usual your writing cracks me up! I totally relate to this event as it happens every other Friday in my household. Even though I'm the one who iniaties the drill sergeant command "Martha is coming tomorrow" and initiates the cleaning frenzy, I will say your brother participates willingly. He must have been "trained" at a young age.

I love the before and after pictures!(Considering stealing this idea to properly demonstrate what "cleaning up after dinner" looks like to certain members of my household.)

Keep up the great work, I love reading your work and truly enjoy the good laugh I get every time!

Oh my, so true! Emily, I'm really enjoying your new site. The post about your son's broken arm had us laughing out loud over here. Keep writing!
