Wow, I think Noah did great. Can absolutely see where a little constructive criticism may have been called for.. What a talented boy you have there..

Oh and the haircut looks great. Tommy showed up at the HairCuttery as you guys were walking into Becker's that day...

Sounds like you handled it exactly right....honestly but gently! If your mom bullshits you...well, it kind of throws your world off it's axis. I'm sure he counts on you to give it to him straight.

Heh. Not sure I ever told mine they are perfect, but I know they understand the unconditional love. In fact, I think I that can show them that love them the most when they are in the process of screwing something up or not trying their hardest. Mine are too old to try to direct or for me to leap in and fix anything, so all I can do is be sympathetic, find a way to make the constructive criticism (and you did it beautifully, even with the street cred swearing) and just be with them in whatever emotion they are having.

I think you handled that perfectly. I may have the opposite problem. I'm always "constructively" critical of my kids, rarely just applauding them and keeping my mouth shut. I look forward to hearing Noah "sing the shit" out of his song this Sunday.

And if you need someone to drink with between now and then, call me.
