My sister in law almost fell over on my kitchen floor once when I walked in wearing my fanciest party dress. Dress up can be soooo fun.

Boy can I relate to this one Emily. I realized I had gone too far over the "mom image" line when I wore something other than jeans one day and my youngest daughter asked me what I'd gotten so dressed up for. Ouch. We went to Paris last year and I SWORE that if we made it back in one piece I'd never wear jeans again. We could spot Americans two miles away - all the Parisians looked so chic in their casual yet fashionable clothes. We Americans all slouched around in our jeans and t-shirts, like we KNEW we looked crummy but couldn't help ourselves. I actually made it for several months sans jeans, but have to admit that I've caved some over the winter. So while I could aspire to being the party dress type, I'll settle for just not being the mom-jeans type for now! Hey - but my pony tail is smooth!!

According to Jessie, who prides herself on being fancy at five years old, I am not fancy at all - - except maybe on Saturday nights! However, on those occasional Saturday nights, she is my biggest fan, with complements galore (which is more than I can say for Lee, who maybe mutters "You look nice" - - "nice" being an adjective that I abhor).
