My mother-in-law would only make left turns if there was a left turn arrow on the stop light. Otherwise, it was 3 right turns. Kind of glad she doesn’t drive anymore.

Kind people, with shopping carts piled high, at Aldi’s let me go ahead of them with my paltry armload of groceries. To me they are not wimps; they are thoughtful people.

Good point. Best used in cities with geometrically perfect grid systems. Ergo, do not try this in London, either.

I subscribed to the three right turns until I lived in Salzburg and three right turns would land you 2.7 miles from where you started and somewhere along the way a one-way street prevented your turning back.

Beat me to it! I similarly watched Mad Men (also last night from Sunday’s DVR taping; eerie)and similarly almost fell off my barstool (how Sixties of you!)when I heard that Don was meeting Connie Hilton in “the” suite. Same credenza? Eerie. Life imitating art or v.v. Like when “thirtysomething” was on-air and always seemed to follow or precede, very close to exactly, something that was happening in MY ad-agency life at the time. Eerie.
