What an adorable book! And what a marvelous story that goes along with that book! How many books can we name from our childhood that have guided us and changed our lives? My own: The Phantom Tollbooth, Alice in Wonderland, and Grimm's The Six Swans. Thanks so much for sharing this story!

Based on that last comment, I'm changing my handle to Snugglepot.

That man's experience went better than mine. I found a copy of my grandfather's book on-line, but when it arrived with Library stamps and other undisclosed marks I was less than thrilled. When the seller learned of the sentimental value of the book, she cheerfully dropped any pretense of doing right by me.

Bitterly yours,
