The hardest day of my life was when I came home from a business trip and my baby cried because he had no idea who I was." I remember thinking Geez, could you have told me that before I was agonizing about this?! So while some of it may have been word choice, shorthanded for the non-parent, I know what you mean about figuring out where you draw the line for yourself as a parent and benchmarking with others. So glad for you that you had the opportunity to get away and reboot. Hope the feeling lasts a good part of the summer!
