Living in the West, I’ve been to Vegas more times than I would care to count. My best friend lives there (right down the street from a large Mormon temple: seriously) so now when I visit I never even see the Strip. Last time I visited we did the buffet at the Wynn, and while I detest buffets, this one was totally incredible.

Las Vegas kind of has a special place in my heart. My parents both went to High School there and met and got married in a little chapel there. My Grandpa served as a recruiter for the Navy there. My Uncle, Grandma and Grandpa are all buried there now. So very much of my family history is rooted in that city. It has some great stories to share. I love hearing them from my dad about managing motels or my Grandma’s coin changing days. I still have a handful of family that lives there. But there is definitely a dark, dangerous side to that city as well.

Very amusing! I used to watch exactly the kind of TV show you’re describing back when the boys were babies and my brain was baked. Like you last week, I’ve never been to Las Vegas, even though my BFF grew up there. Weird.
