Highway researchers are really not trying to scare parents and their 16 year olds....the data strongly suggests 16 year olds should wait until 17 or 18.......its the lawmakers who are pressed by those parents who want their kiddies driving at 16 and earlier in some rural states who run the licensing age.....

gdl laws were designed to make kids gradually get into the driving comfort zone...they have proven to be quite effective....embrace

....many kiddies die because they were not wearing seat belts.....I wish you had mentioned that in your newspaper article.....

not many folks are encouraging electronic devices so that their kiddies stay home ....it's important for teens to socialize with their friends doing activities whether sports, the band, or after school jobs

I'm with you, Em - I can still taste the freedom of that first solo drive. Good point about the increased connectivity of kids today....maybe NOT being able to drive is their only excuse to just be alone for a bit;)

Tommy can't wait to get his license.. He has been looking for cars online for about 2 years now(lol, like they are going to still be available next year). Already planning on where he is going to park next year at the high school..

Truth be told, I am very anxious about it, but on the other hand, I can't wait... While he still hangs with the Loomis crew, some of his friends are further away, and sometimes it is challenging to get him there and back if I am out...
