Hilarious - what a great list of stats!

I definitely understand I.B.M., both from my son's little league baseball, but more from my husband's softball leagues (he plays pitcher... I know I shouldn't worry about an adult!)

I actually found this article looking around for some basic statistics tracking stuff, so I could work on being more in-touch with how my son's/husband's teams are doing. I ended up finding an app for my iPhone called Team Score Keeper. Just a tip for anyone who stumbles here the way I did!

I don't know about you but having watched my son go through t-ball all the way to babe ruth. Along the way he finished dead last a couple of times on his team but the satisfaction of living through a whole season. plus playoffs was all well worth the team finally winning a championship which his team did in his last year of playing.

Stat that I know every parent out there experiences relates to is that one coach who every year makes you hate LL because he will have his players steal on every pitch, run up the score, have his players not swing so they load the bases, and hold up the game to complain to the ump over some insignificant play.
P.G.L.T.J.B.T.T.)
(Please God let them just beat this team.)

Just gotta say: Number of games/season – Number of games/season + 4 ... WOW!

Does it really take that long? LOL! Enjoy it while you can. There will be a time when you look back at the D's/Week and wish you were there again.

I, too, am very glad you're back!

How do you come up with these things. I miss these days. Kyle was recently asked if he could do anything what would that be. My almost 17-year-old said, "Pitch for the Yankees!"

He gave up baseball five years ago...

Glad your back. You are wickedly funny.

I love your third stat. So true. And the kids are like swarms of locusts at the snack bar, where they can't get enough of the bad stuff.
I might add the GD stat, for ghoulish discovery. One of Malcolm's teammates showed up bright and early for a game once, well before anyone else. He went exploring in the scrubby trees outside the fence and found a dead guy. How's that for mixing in a little horror movie plot to the Great American Past-time?

Oh, Em, I feel your pain and can relate to all of these! Ian had his first game last weekend and it started with a major blowup at the house with Rob just to get Ian to agree to go to the game at all ("I'm the worst player on the team!"). May need to add these stats:

BUs - Blow-ups with mom or dad pre-game, during game, after game

N.S.W.A. - "No swing/walk attempt" - The number of times your child doesn't swing the bat in the hopes that the pitcher will throw balls and they might get to walk rather than being embarrassed by striking out.

Good stuff!
