A mother’s (OK, and father’s) dream coming true. It was such a beautiful time for you (plural) as an immediate family, your extended family (me too) and all the special friends. Taking the time to sit back and fully absorb all that was “happening”, it truly was a celebration on many levels (tears came several times, oh). You and Surf are fantastic parents and I (and I’m sure your Uncle Bob if he were here while I’m writing this) felt so blessed to be a part of this special time. Thank you and kudos!

“Hung over with happiness.” I love that line. And I loved the Bar Mitvah. Rob and I were saying how special the bond of family is in the Jewish tradition and how that’s really missing for many of us. You can feel an unbreakable bond of love between you and your extended family. It’s really something special.

And even if it’s not the objective of this rite of passage, you do throw one hell of a party.

So beautiful, Emily. I totally agree with you that there are so few opportunities in our culture, in this day and age, to celebrate passages and milestones. And I find that really sad. I am so glad you were able to honor Chase properly, to “do it right.”
