Insightful post, Em. You'll need to remind me of this the next time I slip into my "jealous of Em's and Mo's success" funks.

Love it! And as a bit of a control freak myself, I'm going to try to take this lesson to heart on a regular basis. Thank you. And kudos to Dave!

I really love this, Em. I am especially guilty of "running someone else’s race," and you're right, it never turns out well. So often I try to make someone's path to success my own, and I fail every time. Why I have such a hard time blazing my own trail I'm not so sure (I don't think this was always the case with me). Beautiful metaphor. And, FWIW, I seriously cannot imagine running for four hours. But if I was going to run a marathon, I can say that I would definitely take Dave's approach. It's a marathon-marathon, not a sprint-marathon.
