I am especially guilty of "running someone else’s race," and you're right, it never turns out well. So often I try to make someone's path to success my own, and I fail every time. Why I have such a hard time blazing my own trail I'm not so sure (I don't think this was always the case with me). Beautiful metaphor. And, FWIW, I seriously cannot imagine running for four hours. But if I was going to run a marathon, I can say that I would definitely take Dave's approach. It's a marathon-marathon, not a sprint-marathon. I really love this, Em.
