Hey Rob, the Meyers were in our hearts and our stories throughout the weekend. We've slowly kept checking off cabins in the PATC book and at this rate will get to number 37 somewhere around 2025. By the way, we were used the grill area as an outdoor kitchen, with a view that made slicing vegetables and scrambling eggs a transcendent experience. Miss y'all and hope life is sweet in Sweden and beyond.

I've resigned myself to needing both: a place with lots of stuff and vacation time away from all the stuff. Thats why people get weekend houses I think. Its the change that makes it so wonderful.

Very, very nice pictures and post. This cabin is, undoubtedly, a jewel in the PATC crown. A simple kitchen upgrade would (or should) get it in the luxury-villa range. We did see a bear there in 2005. My whole family (well--17 of us) made it up there for a going-away party. There was even a meteor shower to enjoy. Really, really, really miss our camping trips--summer and fall. The Reynolds team ALWAYS solid campers. I think Hedvig and Tavia can still recount the whole Joe Boxer trial and sham verdict. And do when we reminisce. Love you guys. Hope your fall goes well.

The Queen Anne's lace at our cabin is what initially inspired Chris....plus the grassy meadow and the structure on the hill. To add a little extra credibility, Chris grew up just a couple of miles from the Wyeth compound in Pennsylvania. Besides Maine, that was the only other place Andrew ever spent time. A fascinating family, the Wyeths.

I've seen the actual house from the painting in Cushing, Maine, but your image is in some ways more real than the real thing! The grassy area where we see Christina is actually much smaller than in the Wyeth painting! I often take visitors to Maine to see it. Can't remember if Lindsay went with me!

I am so jealous! It looks like a marvelous trip. I entertain these dreams of getting away to a cabin for a week each summer...so why don't I just do it?!

"Stuff Management" is the perfect phrase for what tends to take up too much of our time. I'm looking forward to "downsizing" in all senses of the word.
As for the Christina's World image, concept and photo-taking by Chris, with art direction assistance from Jamie. "Her right arm is out more, isn't it?" "Hold that pose, try to look a bit more contorted!" I was merely the model.

I did recognize and love the Wyeth-esque photo! It was on the cover of my first adult coffee table book!

I felt the same way--this is our first summer in seven years without strollers, pack-n-plays, etc. and it was bliss to carry a bag and just GO. But I came home and realized I wasted an entire day in Stuff Management--laundry, moving things around, cleaning things up...and it has been inspiring in the decluttering department!
