But, I have quite the opposite: middle school starts at 9:10AM, and the bus stop is at 8:40AM (about the time I'm getting my second cup of coffee at work, 30 minutes away). I tend to overcompensate the extreme opposite from the "cranky, whinny, over-induldged parental units" and need to find a happy medium. Keep the faith, this too shall pass, and what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger! Hold on to that mama-bear card, don't use it quite yet, there will be much bigger-better times to play it! At least with myself I've noticed this to be consistently true. In other news, I was recently reading a study that teenagers' body clocks run "late," such that early start times in schools spells disaster. They have shown that schools that have LATER start times in middle and high school show test scores of 25% improvement in just a year's time.
