Oh Jennifer - I'm so happy to hear all the good news from the world traveler! Just a few thoughts about London - for MAJOR vintage clothes shopping tell him not to miss Camden Lock Market in Camden Town (NW London). http://www.camdenlock.net/
And yes, there are still Oxfams everywhere, and cheap street vendors. Neal Street is a great area for vintage shopping and eating and has my favorite restaurant, Food for Thought - near Covent Garden. And I second the advice about theatre and the half-price ticket booth. He'll have a blast there!

I'm kinda partial to the name, btw (which just happens to be the name of my own, sweet Bugaboo).

Thank you for the tips!! Boat ride home from Greenwich sounds brilliant. I think Hampton Court is nearby and that would be very cool too. We've been touting theater which Ian very much enjoyed at SHHS, so why not at the West End?

London: theater theater theater theater theater theater theater theater. Go to the half price booth. See everything. Between national support for the arts and the half-price booth it isn't extravagant at all. (Dinner before? That's a problem.)
The City of London Museum often gets skipped for all the other amazing ones (Tate, BM, V&A, etc etc etc) but I loved it and learned a ton that made the rest of my time in London even more fun.
And if he goes to Greenwich, the boat home is a great way to go--lots to see.
Finally, the Camdentown Markets were awesome in the 80s and 90s. I am old old old now and there's probably something better out there now. But the coolest boots I ever owned came from there and cost practically nothing. It was a great place to score deals back in the day!

These are great stories, Jennifer! Just last week, I was wondering when Ian was coming home, and some of his travel stories. It sounds like it's been such a marvelous time!
