Computers, iphones and modern communications can help everyone live forever! I deal with exchange students and a young lady who lives in Turkey wrote me an email recently. She said she has fallen in love with the beautiful music of Stan Getz, especially his recording of "Autumn Leaves." She wrote to ask me if I listen to him and did I know what his latest recording was. I had to inform her, sadly, that he had passed away many years ago. She is nearly heart broken. She found his music on Youtube. Without Youtube, the great music of Stan Getz (and many others) would only be found in old record shops and would slowly die with his many fans. Now, with Youtube, Stan Getz still captures any listener who hears his great sax!!!

I miss having a land line. It reminds me of my grandmother, who worked for the telephone company and had free long distance for life. We would call her, let it ring once, and she would call us back so we didn't pay for the call. When my Aunt Mimi called her, she let it ring twice. It was like a secret code. There's no mystery to phone calls anymore. Great post as always Em!

Love it. I'm there with you. A couple years ago I remember Rob yelling at me because I didn't have my phone with me when I went somewhere. His has been attached to his hip since they were invented and he just didn't understand why I didn't follow suit. So I adjusted. But if it wasn't for being accessible to the kids (not Rob) when I'm away, I'd be perfectly comfortable leaving it at home.

P.S. Your writing has been particularly enjoyable lately!
