I succumbed to the same pressure as you a month ago when my little guy begged me (for the third year in a row) to join Cub Scouts. For all of my reservations – most of them the same as yours, plus the more-truckin’-around factor for me – I do see that he’s been getting a lot from this. And, oh yes, they hit us with the popcorn thing the night he joined. GEEEEZZZZ…

To the scouts’ credit, the level 1 popcorn is actually quite tasty. Still obscenely expensive, yes, but a big hit here.
