Great post, Emily. It’s a complex topic because women generally/historically have had to work so hard for rights and recognition. We so often hear that women need to be “better than men” just to get paid with some parity. This fosters that competitive spirit you’re writing about, and I guess it’s part of what has led to some amazing achievements. So you have so much to be proud of! And I am all for people letting others know about their own achievements and those of their spouses and kids. Humility is a nice trait, but not to the point of self-denial. That said, it sounds like the balance you’ve achieved is a perfect one.
